What’s Keeps Marketing Thought Leaders Up at Night?
The American Marketing Association’s Meeting of the Minds is a new webcast series featuring professors from leading business schools, sharing thoughts and observations about how marketers can better demonstrate their value to the bottom line. Many are renowned authors, recognized for linking marketing to the creation of shareholder value. Some have headed the Marketing Science Institute, while others have been editors for leading marketing publications such as Journal of Marketing and Journal of Marketing Research. As a group, they have held Directorships with more than 100 multinational companies across all industries, advising and consulting with thousands of CEOs, CFOs, and CMOs.
The Meeting of the Minds Line-up includes:

Don’t Hide Your Light! Nominations for 2010-11 Board of Directors Due by February 1.
The Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the American Marketing Association is always seeking members with new ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to lead the organization. As a Past President and the current Nominating Committee Chair for the chapter, I am encouraging you, as a chapter member, to deepen your connection with the DFW AMA by getting involved at the leadership level.
The DFW AMA is a completely volunteer-led organization, and only as strong as those willing to commit to lead. Past Board members will tell you that being a chapter leader has been one of the most fulfilling volunteer commitments they have made, both professionally and personally. In addition to enlarging your professional network within the Metroplex and nationally, DFW AMA Board participation will also offer you the chance to hone your leadership skills. Now is not the time to be shy, so let us know if you’re interested!
Any member may self-submit or recommend other candidates to the Nominating Committee. “The name of any eligible member may be proposed by a petition signed by two percent or ten members (whichever is greater) who are eligible to vote for that opening, properly submitted for a specific position.” (Collegiate members are ineligible to vote.) If you are interested in becoming a Board leader, please return the Nominations Form at www.dfwama.com by February 2, 2010.
Once the form is received, someone from the Nominating Committee will be in touch to discuss your submission. Until then, thank you for your interest in and commitment to the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the AMA!
If you are interested in building contacts and helping to advance marketing knowledge, you should become a volunteer for the DFW Chapter of the AMA. Donate as little or as much time as you would like. We have opportunities for people who want to help with event registration and set-up as well as planning, record keeping or managing. Volunteering enhances what you gain from the DFW AMA. To become a volunteer, sign up on the website at http://dfwama.com/Volunteer/ or contact Cori Lawrence at corilawrence@gmail.com.
