Mike D. Merrill runs a boutique marketing consultancy dedicated to helping customers maximize online customer acquisition through social media marketing, sound positioning and overall branding. Mike speaks and blogs regularly about social media the power of Personal Branding. Prior to founding Bacon Marketing, Mike held several outside sales roles in IT with NetApp and Dell. As a corporate marketer, Mike ran marketing for Dell’s $2 Billion Higher Education vertical with responsibility for driving demand for all lines of business for the US. At Dell, Mike led the development and launch of the Dell Campus Architecture™, a complete technology framework for planning, procuring, implementing and managing campus IT environments. Prior to Dell, Mike held various roles in product management and product marketing for two venture-backed software startups, Alventive, Inc. and Tonic Software, developing web-based collaboration and systems management solutions. Mike pursued his MBA at The University of Michigan’s Ross Business School and holds undergrad degrees in Finance and Accounting from New Mexico State University. Prior to graduate school, Mike spent five years in operations management with Intel. Mike resides in Plano, TX with his wife and two daughters, who, unfortunately, are also addicted to the internet and Facebook. ..And he also has a thing for bacon. But that’s a completely different story.
